Captain Johan Schild: He graduated from the Nautical College in Amsterdam in 1962 and completed his
Nautical study by obtaining his master mariner license, unlimited, in 1971.
After having sailed in all ranks including as master for various international
shipping companies he became a Port Captain in New Orleans for The Jan C. Uiterwijk Company. In 1975, he founded NauTech Marine Surveyors and Consultants,
a company which became the largest privately held marine
consulting company in the Gulf of Mexico region. NauTech was engaged to conduct
all types of marine surveys and assisted owners, charterers, underwriters and
cargo interest as Port Captains and Port Engineers. NauTech was further involved
in conducting pre-purchase surveys for financial institutions and safety
conditions surveys for P&I clubs, as well as Maritime litigation support
consultants to assist Admiralty lawyers.
In 1987 he graduated from Tulane University with a MBA degree and subsequently
continued his education with Doctoral studies in International Business at the
NOVA University in Ft. Lauderdale and divested his interest in NauTech.
In 1988 he became the General Manager and CEO for Thomas Pipe and Steel, a large
importer and distributor of pipe and steel products. His leadership again
resulted in increased revenues and profits.
In 1993 he returned again to the marine consulting and survey business with his
enhanced knowledge of business and management consulting.
In 2000 due to the shortage of Dutch captains, he became a consulting captain
for Dutch flagged vessels, while employed with NauTech Marine Consultants.
Adrian Twigt: He
graduated from the Nautical College in Amsterdam in 1962 and obtained his master
license in 1970. He sailed with various international shipping companies
including as master for Brown & Root on offshore crane vessels.
He attended law school in the Netherlands and graduated with a law degree in
General Maritime Law in 1976.
In 1976 he further became a lecturer in Nautical Science and Maritime Law at the
Maritime College in Delfzijl.
In 2001 he became involved with NauTech Marine Consultants in an advisory
capacity and as a European representative dealing with the various maritime
matters and clients.
He also is a board member of the North Netherlands P & I Club.
Tony Bodamer: He
graduated from the College of Marine Engineering in Amsterdam and sailed in the
various ranks as engineer, including 6 years as Chief Engineer for international
shipping companies. His last company hired him as a Superintendent Engineer with
21 ships under his supervision, including reefer vessels; crane ships supply
vessels and general cargo vessels.
In 1977 he became the Bureau Veritas surveyor and branch manager in Houston,
Texas overseeing a number of surveyors in ports in the Gulf of Mexico,
responsible for Hull and Machinery repairs, dry dockings, special surveys and
other surveys/inspections in relation to the classification of vessels. He is
also an "ISM" lead auditor for several classification bureaus. In 2001 he joined
NauTech Marine Consultants, Inc. in Tampa.
Captain
Chris le Fevre De Montigny: He graduated from the Maritime
Academy in Amsterdam with his masters license, unlimited and sailed as Deck
officer and master for a number of international companies. In 1970 he became
the operations manager of the Detroit Harbor Terminal and in 1975 he became the
Port Captain for "Tokio Kabushiki Kaisha" a large Japanese ship operator, in
charge of scheduling their operations with cost control as a priority. In 1980
he became the operations manager for a large stevedoring company in the US Gulf
and 1984 joined NauTech Marine Surveyors & Consultants as a staff surveyor in
the New Orleans area, conducting all types of marine surveys and as an advisor
for cargo operations.
From 1987 till 1992 he again sailed as a master on several cruise and gambling
vessels in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean.
In 1992 he became an independent Port Captain for a number of large operators
such as Van Ommeren, Maritime Overseas, Harrisons and Sabine Transportation.
During this time he became familiar with numerous types of cargoes and their
discharge in various ports located in third world countries.
In 2002 he joined forces with NauTech Marine Consultants, Inc. in their Houston
office.
Captain David Elliott: He graduated in 1982 with a British Foreign Going Master Certificate Class 1.
After 18 years in the British Marine Service he progressed from Cadet to Master
on chemical, product and crude oil carriers. The extensive experience
gained at sea was used in various functions ashore as salvage master and
technical advisor with a salvage company in the Middle East including STS
transfers at Kharg Island.
Subsequently he worked as a Marine Surveyor/Consultant conducting loss control,
damage surveys and acted as a surveyor for the P& I clubs. He further
conducted many OCIMF surveys on behalf of the Oil Majors.
After a period of app 12 years doing the vetting (OCIMF) inspections, loss
control and damage surveys he became a Pilot/Mooring Master with Melbourne
Marine Services.
With this company he conducted many STS operations on vessels of all sizes, both
underway and at anchor worldwide.
Presently he is working with NauTech Marine Consultants training captains in the
art of STS bunkering operations and as a senior surveyor in charge of various
assignments including assisting vessel owners in preparing and attending during
vetting inspections.
Captain Sheriff Saudi: He spent the first 18 years of his career with the British Merchant Marines, going from Cadet to Master. Since then, he has handled all types of ships, and has extensive experience in Lightering and STS operations with various companies all over the world. Captain Saudi’s credentials include: Suez Harbor & Canal Pilot, STS Superintendent & Advisor and Mooring Master. Captain Saudi has a USCG Master Mariner License Unlimited. He is fluent in both Arabic and English.
Captain Jan Doornbos: He holds a Dutch Master Mariner License, and has over 30 years experience with various International Shipping companies as deck officer, master, pilot/senior pilot in places like Curacao and the Netherland Antilles. Captain Doornbos became a Mooring Master with NauTech Marine Consultants in 1988, and has worked freelance since that time for all the STS lightering companies in the Gulf of Mexico. He is fluent in both Dutch and English.

Captain John Fisher: He has approximately 22 years experience as Master and Officer in various ranks, mostly on tanker vessels, with all types of cargo in liquid and gas form. Captain Fisher has worked as Lightering Master on Shuttle tankers engaged in loading and discharging crude and fuel oil cargoes via STS operations, and acted as the Marine point of view for Exxon Mobil on one of the latest FPSO vessels in Angola. He is fluent in English.
Captain Adelstein Lund: He received his Master License Unlimited in 1971 at the Nautical School at Kristiansund, Norway. During the next 18 years he worked as a Master on Bulk & Tank Vessels ranging from 25-368,000 TDW. In 1990 he became a Master on a Lightering Vessel for DSD Shipping in the US Gulf of Mexico, and also participated in trade between Mexico & Venezuela to US Ports. Captain Lund became Mooring Master in 1998; he holds a fully updated Master Mariner License, as well as the highest grade of Tankerman Certification. He is fluent in both Norwegian and English.
